Donvale Preschool is committed to child wellbeing and safety.

We want children to be safe, happy and empowered. We support and respect all children, as well as our staff and volunteers.

We committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children.

We are communicate with, and listen to, the views of parents and carers about the wellbeing of their children and out child safety policies and procedures.

We have a greater focus on the safety of children who are considered more at risk to abuse and neglect.

We have a zero tolerance of child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our policies and procedures.

We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety, which we follow rigorously.

Donvale Preschool is committed to preventing child abuse and identifying risks early, and removing and reducing these risks.

Donvale Preschool has human resources and recruitment practices for all staff and volunteers that minimise the risk of child abuse.

Donvale Preschool is committed to regularly training and educating our staff and volunteers on child abuse risks.

We are committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, the cultural safety of children from a culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.

We have specific policies, procedures and training in place that support our leadership team, staff and volunteers to achieve these commitments.

We have a commitment to managing both the physical and online environments to keep children safe through governance, systems and processes.

We have a zero tolerance to abuse, racism and bullying.  

This statement provides the framework for Donvale Preschool’s approach to complying with best practice by aligning with Victoria’s Child Safe Standards in conjunction with the guiding National Principals for Child Safety.
